Putting the house in the shop?

Today we will be on the move! We are not leaving but we are going...this morning we are putting our house the shop! Most people put their cars in the shop but we put our house in the shop. It will be in there for up to a week so we will be staying at a friends lake house. It will be like a mini vacation for us. Some would say our lives are already vacation-like but that is really far from true. Let's look:

Our home is mobile so we can "Go Where God Leads" so home is where we park it. We see so many beautiful things that God made like flowers, mountains, trees and hills. We have been able to see wildlife too when we are in state parks and camp ground. 90% of the a fore mentioned are seen as we drive down the highways and byways of America. We never get a chance to stop and really smell the roses because we are always on a mission to get somewhere and don't have to time or money to do all the vacationing type things. Not to mention the fact that just "pulling over" to take a picture or see a sight can be a safety issue when you are 62 feet of moving vehicles!

Our destinations are not based on a particular attraction, shopping mall or restaurant. When you live little there is no room for extra treasures. Even a picture for the wall is a nightmare because our home is not made of wood but lite weight aluminum so just try to get a nail in the wall! ha ha!

Esthetics aside, there 6 tires to maintain removing, rotating, greasing and replacing once or twice a year and that doesn't include the truck. The truck has 6 more tires! Then you have the dumping of the tanks! Once we figured it out and got used to it it now only takes about 30 minutes or so about every 10 days or so. We have two bathrooms so a little over an hour. Sounds like a vacation so far?

Now lets talk about those we love...when you get upset with your spouse or you just need some time and space to yourself...good luck cuz there ain't any! Ha ha ha! This why I do not have a gun in the house! Ha! ha! There is only so much floor space and no place to for personal space unless you consider the bathroom.

Listen, day in and day out our lives are about sharing the Gospel of Jesus. Could we not do it in a stationary home, yes? In fact for years we did. But when we said "here I am Lord, send me" there were things that changed in a big way but nothing that we hadn't asked for. Selling everything we owned and being obedient to the call of God was not easy at first but I wouldn't trade it now for anything in the world! The world needs Jesus and whether you do foreign ministry, American ministry or ministry in your own back yard there will be challenges.  Lay aside the worry and ask God for direction and favor in the place He has you. Find joy in what He gives you because there is nothing else that matters!

Choose Forgiveness

            Choose Forgiveness

One time I said that if we hold on to unforgiveness we are giving Satan a "foothold" I thought I might expound on that a little further. It is an important message and one each of us must intentionally work at. It is an area that we must keep in check daily. Daily we must search our hearts and lay it down.

Unforgiveness is from the enemy and he wants to keep us bound up in the lie. That's right, lie. Is he not the "father of lies", "the great deceiver", "the accuser of the brethren"? The one most affected by unforgiveness is the one holding on to it...the one relinquishing their power to the enemy and giving him a foothold. The word foothold; according to Webster's it means "a secure position from which further progress may be made". A secure position for Satan is in the dark. He will lay in wait and just as one has been convicted and is ready to forgive...Satan will stir up your mind and before you know it he has convinced you to hold on to it! BAM...blessing lost! If you allow him to keep that foothold you will lose every...single...time.

When we choose unforgiveness we are giving him a place from which to cause tremendous damage in so many areas.  For instances, unforgiveness destroys marriages, families, friendships, it hinders our relationship with God, it hinders our prayer life, it hinders our ability to love and be loved. Ask Jesus to help you forgive even if you don't think you can or even want to. You must forgive. Why?
"But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:15).

To be clear unforgiveness of ones self is almost worse than the former for two reasons; if you can't forgive your self how do you expect to forgive others? Here is a ever common example: maybe you committed acts in your life that are less than flattering, drugs, alcohol, adultery, theft, etc. then you came to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and the Bible says;
“For by one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First He says: ‘This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.’ Then He adds: ‘Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more' (Hebrews 10:14-18).
The enemy will try to remind you of a past that Christ himself died for, paid for and no longer has record of! You are a blood bought child of the most high God...tell Satan to shut his mouth...You have been given power and authority to put him under your feet. JUST DO IT! REMEMBER IT IS NOT ABOUT WHAT WE HAVE DONE ... ITS ABOUT WHAT HE DID! This is the lie I referred to earlier. Satan will try to make you focus on what you did and not what Jesus did! YOU ROB JESUS OF THE PRICE HE PAID WHEN YOU ALLOW THE ENEMY TO RESURRECT THAT WHICH WAS NAILED TO THE CROSS!

On a lighter note: love and forgiveness are the thing we humans struggle with. Interestingly, they are two things that are inseparable. Love requires a forgiving heart and by the same token forgiveness requires a loving heart. Neither one can thrive without the other. Fortunately, we have have an advocate, one who speaks to the Father on our behalf just as He did in Zechariah 3...
Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him.  The Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?”Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes (sin) as he stood before the angel. The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.” Then I said, “Put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood by. The angel of the Lord gave this charge to Joshua:  “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.
This is a beautiful picture of every Believer who calls Yeshau (Jesus) Redeemer, Savior, Friend.
Ask God today to help you forgive like he forgave you and to love like he loved you while you were yet in sin.

Day 18 - Evening Report

Image result for encouragement

We have both been very busy with ministry things today so haven't had much time think about anything but that. Keeping your thoughts on other things makes a difference. This is why focusing of God is the most important thing! After all it's why we are fasting.

We are really getting tired of the bland food. I think Mark me than me because he is not a big fruit eater Ive had to make him other things like veggie wraps and they are getting old. We long for cheese pizzas and steak! Three days and counting! DON'T GIVE UP...KEEP GOING!

Day 17 - Evening Report

Image result for be strong in the lord

Today the snow began to melt, the sun came out and it was a little warmer. We enjoyed running errands together and getting things done. We have been going to Walmart kind of regularly for fresh things like vegetables and fruit. Soon that will stop at least all the trips back and forth.

We were talking today and I want you all to know that I am not immune to thoughts of discontinuing this fast. Fortunately,  Mark is committed and was able to encourage me. We have only 4 days left and I have a new commitment. If you are wavering let me encourage you! Hang in there!

Day 16 - Evening Report

Image result for i can do all things through christ
We are getting down to the end and the tendency may be to cut it short but I guarantee that if you press in you will not regret it. Up until know we have been eating fairly well. Our food intake has been health maybe a little tasteless but definitely edible. When Daniel fasted he knew that he would be in better condition than the others that were eating the kings food. Sure enough he was right.

Daniels fast wasn't just about being healthy it was about being obedient. You see the king was sending food from his royal stash but David was resolved and convinced his guard to sneak him and his three friends Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego nothing but vegetables and water. He did this 10 day and then later in chapter 10 we see he fasted again for 21 days.

You and I are no different than Daniel...he was human and he wanted only to honor his God. I and hopefully you are fasting for the same reason. We have almost completed it and it is my prayer that you do not waver.

Day 15 - Evening Report

Image result for spiritual growth scriptures

Today has been a white day...that is to say snow! For those who live around us you will know how pretty snow can be. Its nice to look at it with our eyes; we see a beautiful blanket of white fluffy precipitation from the heavens. It conjures pictures of peaceful serenity (at least for me). I love snow and I find it the most beautiful when I'm looking at it from warmth of the inside of my home.  Snow is nice. The rub is that the reality of snow is that it's cold, wet and uncomfortable when you become knee deep in it. It seems no matter how many layers of clothing I have on...its still cold, wet and uncomfortable.

So how does my view of snow mean anything. Well, from a distance it looks good. It requires nothing from us nor does it require any action. We take in what it has to offer, smile, sometimes shiver, then walk away without further thought until we walk in front of that window again. Some look at God's Word like they look at snow while others choose to play in it; to get knee deep in it, to be uncomfortable at times but genuinely love it all the same and they carry that love in their hearts constantly.

As Believers sometimes we will be uncomfortable where God's takes us. This is not bad because it forces us to rely on the One greater than ourselves. Because we love Him we should be using this time to press in. We must realize that we cannot just look at the Word of God and not be affected. We must get knee deep in it and experience all that it has offer. Play like a child in the Word of God, meditate on it and then grow in it.

Day 14 - Evening Report

Image result for philippians 4 13

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. Tonight I did something different. I talk to a girl friend earlier today and we decided to meet at her church and visit, there was some kind of meeting and she wanted to introduce me to someone that is very special to her so I went. Turns out it was an AA meeting and the speaker was the person who was her sponsor and the one she wanted me to meet.

He was a very nice older man who told his story and shared that he had now been sober since the late 80's.  As he told his story I couldn't help but think about mine. Yes, I too have story as do we all. Mine was similar but the crutch was different. We all have or have had a crutch; a thing that caused us to be far away from God.

There comes a time in the life of a Believer that we must lay aside all those things that hinder our relationship with God. Some struggle with alcohol, others with drugs still others with sexual addictions, and some even with food. The bible says in Exodus 20:3, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me". Anything that we do that does not glorify God or contradicts  is Word is an idol. We must see these things for what they are and ask God to help us put them away...not aside where they can be picked back up but away where they have no more hold.

Be encouraged today because the Word says, "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength". This fast is no different. In this last week we can become weak and fail but pray and focus on Jesus and He will help you through.

Today I had a smoothie for breakfast, a bean and onion burrito for lunch, and water for dinner.

P.S. I had a really good time at the AA meeting with my friend. :)

Day 13 - Evening Report

1 Corinthians 3:9 We Are God's Building (black)

Happy Sabbath! Today is Sunday! We enjoyed a wonderful morning of worship and the Word! We are blessed to have a great family to worship with. Mark and I have been members of two churches in our lives and it is a gift to have so many brother and sisters in Christ!

The Church is a place were we go to among other things, learn, grow in Christ, fellowship with others, sing and pray. As I heard said this morning "we are not doing God a favor by going to church He is doing us a favor by giving us another day to worship Him".

We have been apart of several churches each as different from the other. The differences at least in part are the people. Whether a small church or mega church it is filled with imperfect people. No church is perfect because people are not perfect. I have often said if  someone thinks their church is perfect do not invite me because I will mess it up. Hahaha! As we carry out of the building what we learn we grow but when we leave it in the pew until the following week we are not growing and in fact doing more harm than good. We must walk out our faith on Sunday and every other day of the week.If the world sees no difference between us and them why should they bother. We must be different.

I encourage you to talk the talk you are walking! Be who you have been called to be! You are a child of the Living God! You are the friend of the Savior of the World! You are set apart! You are different! Act like it!

Today's meals were Avocado wraps for lunch and pinto beans for dinner!

Day 12 - Evening Report

 Image result for friend scripture

This morning I enjoyed time with our friends and fellow board members who graciously let us not only park on the there property but they let us hook up to the electricity as well as their septic. They are such giving people and we are blessed to have them in our lives. Good friends are a blessing from God.

Before I became a Believer I had so many people in my life that claimed to be my friend but would turn on me when it was not convenient or when I no longer had anything to give. Truth be known during that time in my life I was not a good person let alone a good friend. I didn't really understand what being a friend really meant.

It wasn't until I met Jesus that I began to understand not only what but who a friend is. Jesus said, "...Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command.  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you" John 15:13-15. Jesus himself lay down His life for those He called and I.

In Ecclesiastes 14:9-10 the writer tells us that "two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. As brothers and sisters in Christ we need to not follow the example of the world which is shallow and undependable and follow the example of Jesus which is never failing and eternal. I encourage you to examine how good a friend that you are.

I am asking God to examine my heart and show me how I can be a friend like Him. After all, a friend is trustworthy, honest, kind, long suffering, compassionate, steadfast, and above all loving. What a wonderful person to call friend.

Today's meals was tea and smoothie for breakfast, smoothie for lunch and believe it or not veggies burgers! Yup, a veggie patty with tomato and avocado on the side. Honestly it wasn't at all. Will I eat it again after our fast? No probably not but for now it is serving a purpose.

Day 11 - Evening Report

Image result for prayer scripture
Today started early...3a.m. early! When the Lord wakes you you get up and pray. I spent quite a long time doing just that. This is not really the norm for me. I enjoy praying and seeking the face of my Savior and I do it regularly but none stop for an extended period is a whole other level. Its exhilarating and exciting and when you are finished exhaustion sets in so I went back to bed around 6, napped a while then met Mark "at the table" at 8. Then I had an mri at 10:00 and a conference a call at 1:00 that lasted 2 hours! Man, the Lord new I was gona have a very busy day and I believe between the fasting and the early prayer with Him I finish the day feeling pretty strong.

In recent days I have tried to encourage you to pray and how important it is. I have also told you how important it is to pray aloud. When we pray it brings light in to the dark. Nothing can hide in the light, the darkness can not occupy the same space so when we pray aloud the enemy MUST flee and believe me he does. He cannot come between a praying Believer and his or her Jesus! So pray out loud! Bring it all in to the light, seek God's will in to your life, speak of things that are not as if they were, believe and watch Heaven move on your behalf!

This morning was a smoothie, lunch was 2 corn tortillas with my homemade avocado salad, salsa. Dinner was really good, corn chowder! Find the new recipe below.

Corn Chowder
  • 3 Carrots, large, diced
  • 3 large stalks Celery, celery
  • 4 ears Corn (1 - 10 oz bag frozen add last)
  • 5 cloves Garlic, large, crushed
  • 1 Red bell pepper, large, diced
  • 2 Red potatoes, large, diced
  • 1 White onion, large, diced
Canned Goods
  • 2/3 cup Coconut milk, full-fat canned
Baking & Spices
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp Sea salt
2 cups Water
Combine all fresh veggies in 2 cups of water and bring to boil til just tender
Add any remaining frozen veggies, spices. Here you can do one of two things: use 1/2 cup of potato flakes which will thicken when the soup comes to the boil or mash up the red potatoes either one will be the thickening agent for the soup. Once soup thicken, enjoy!

you are in my prayers,

Day 10 - HALFWAY POINT - Evening Report

Image result for jeremiah 33:3
Today was a blessing on all fronts! Mark and I have a standing meeting "at the table" every morning; we talk about all things good, bad and ugly, our fast, we talk about the Restoration Crusade and people on our prayer list and then we pray.  I have been praying for someone to help us with one or two promotional videos and recently that prayer was answered by a fellow church member and new friend who is using his time, and talent (his ministry) to help us with these much needed video(s). Never, never let anyone tell you that prayer doesn't work, that God doesn't hear you or you shouldn't pray for certain things. If you have a need or a desire...pray!

Let me repeat...if you have a need or desire..pray! The Bible tells us from the Genesis to Revelation that God loves us and wants to hear our prayers.  Prayer is worship; it is a direct communication with God. It is a conversation that requires no cell towers, it will never be"dropped", there are no roaming fees and never, ever will the line be busy. He is always there.

The Bible says, The Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah a second time while he was in prison saying, "Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and unsearchable/mighty things which you do not know" during a time of Israels restoration. Jeremiah 33:3 is one of my favorite scriptures because it reminds me that I am not alone not alone and that He asks us to call on Him then promises to answer! I think that is pretty awesome.

Today's food was smoothie for breakfast, vegetable wraps with avocado, homemade salsa, cucumber, bell pepper, tomato, and onion for lunch and soup and salad for dinner. Feeling good.

Day 9 - Evening Report

Image result for jabez

Today was a great God day! In case you don't already know God has placed in our spirit a crusade: Restoration Crusade in fact. After prayer, counsel and more prayer the name, along with the state, city and month was confirmed by more than a few people! Immediately I went out and bought a journal, listed all of the needs from tent and sound and lighting to people, and churches and Mark and I began praying of over it. Today God provided a person who has a tent, lighting, and sound! We are believing it is an answer to prayer! We are encouraging people to pray that their hearts be open.

Starting tomorrow, the halfway point, my in take will change fairly drastically; liquid through out and one small meal at five. Tonight I made a fresh pot of vegetable soup and we really enjoyed it! I am feeling pretty good and pray that God will honor all to come and "bless me indeed"!

This brings to my heart a story, one that many have heard and one many have studied. It is less a story and more a prayer. That's right, hidden away in 1 Chronicles chapter 4 among all the names of those in the line of "The sons of Judah" is a prayer. Its the prayer of a man that knew the God of Israel and his name was Jabez. The Bible says,  ... Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” This is a prayer that all Believers should know and request of The Almighty. We should all seek to have an enlarged territory to share the Gospel in.  This is our prayer as well and like Jabez we believe that God will honor us with the same response... "And God granted his request".

Day 8 - Evening Report

Image result for heavy laden verse
Today has been a bit unusual. I am having a little trouble focusing. I am sure that at least in part in  that is due to the sacrifice of food; just fruit and water today. Its not really a bad thing just kinda in deep thought. I am truly seeking God in the area of forgiveness or... unforgiveness I guess I should say. You know we all have some.

Recently, I asked God to remind me of all the unforgiveness that I was carrying. I used the word "carrying" on purpose because unforgiveness is a burden. Usually it is caused by anger, and/or hurt; its heavy, unrelenting, its a rock around the neck. It can lay dormant for years and one day be triggered by something. Once exposed it must be recognized for what it is and dealt with. If its not dealt with it will become rooted into bitterness. Bitterness is a sin.

Besides the obvious bitterness which is a post for another day, one word comes to mind in my statement; that is burden. Speaking to His disciples Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest". When He said "labor" He wasn't talking about someone who had put in a hard days work, no. Knowing the weight or burden that unforgiveness causes I am certain it is at least one of things Jesus was referring to in that verse.

When we carry unforgiveness we hurt ourselves, AND our relationship with God. Why do I say our relationship with God...why did He send His Son Jesus to die for us on the Cross? He died for the forgiveness of our sin. He died to restore us back to a right relationship with God.

Unforgiveness gives Satan a legal foothold in our gives and gives him the legal right to accuse. He "the accuser of the brethren" (prosecutor) Revelation 12:10 has the right to stand before God (Judge) Psalm 50:6 and point a finger at us... but Jesus... our "Advocate" (Lawyer) Romans 8:34 intercedes on our behalf. A Believers sin is taken away in the court room of Heaven. While this is true however, the lack of repentance for unforgiveness will hinder our walk, our growth, limit our ability to hear from God and allows Satan a continued foothold. That is not a place I want to live in!

Deal with it, repent from it, forgive and WIN.

Feel free to comment on this and any post!

Day 7 - Evening Report

1/3 of our fast is now behind us. Starting in the morning I am reducing my food intake further. While I have felt uncomfortable I want to trust God more. That sounds kind of strange but my prayer is to move into a place of dependence. When my weakness becomes His strength in me then...will my heart rejoice!

Tonight I made guacamole and salsa and we enjoyed it with home baked corn tortilla chips, a smoothie for lunch and fruit for breakfast. We also had popcorn for snack.

I finished up beta testing the classes for ISOW and I look forward to revisiting all the classes especially the ones on the Armor of God.

I love you Lord and I lift my voice to worship You!

Day 6 - Evening Report

Image result for encouraging scriptures

Today was a sweet and a little sad at the same time. The sweet part was church worship with the family of Flint Baptist Church! It is a blessing to be a part of a place that is so alive and on fire. A place that called down the ear of the Lord with its sweet sounding worship and a Pastor that is on fire!

As I mentioned yesterday Mark is struggling a little with withdrawals from things like sugar and bread. Today was not any better except that going to and from the Church house gave us uninterrupted time to talk about His strength in our weakness. We talked about faith and how this fast or any biblical fast is all about sacrificing what we think we need and moving to a place where we allow God to give us what our spirit longs for. Really? Yes, fasting is about denying our flesh of physical needs in order to grow and build our faith by relying on God and His provision.

As for me I tell you its also kind of hard because he has never fasted before and I am finding myself spending time trying to keep him satisfied with food he can eat that I was not focusing on my part. It is better fasting together because I am not being tempted by normal (non-fasting) meals for him. Today though we talked about that and so I really think we are both on the same page now.

One of the things that really help to keep me focused is staying in Gods Word and meditating on what I have reading. I am also leaning heavily on my Armor to defeat the enemies whispers to eat. I am trying to stick to fruits, veggies and water 3 times a day and prayer in the middle. Next week I will lessen the quantity and press harder. I want all that God wants me to have and I don't want to miss it.

Okay, so on to the "little sad" part of the day...A wonderful man of God (Bill Dowdy) died on January 4th and today was his funeral. He and his family are members of Mount Carmel in Whitehouse and the house was packed with friends and family. While funerals are not for the dead but living it is a necessary way to begin the process of closure and I am proud to say he was my friend and I will miss him.

Day 5 - Evening Report

Image result for encouraging scriptures

Day 5 has proved to be a challenge for Mark because his body is starting to miss the sugar intact. He used to drink a lot of coke and very little water. He is now drinking lots of water but what is inside is going to have to come out and it is not always easy or pretty. I like tea and am not a big soda drinker so my issues are different. My issues will be snacking at night. I love cereal with cold milk and bananas. My night time snacking is generally fruit or peanut butter on crackers or a bowl of cereal regardless snacking is snacking and the hour of the snacking is not good either.

As you know we have both been sick so we are kind of handy capped going in but we are praying through it and feeling better. Anyway back to Mark...his withdrawals are manifesting in feelings of melancholy you know just kind of blah feeling. Since sugar seems is his weakness we are substituting man-made sweet for natural sweet...sugar for oranges, pineapples, raisins, etc. We are also of course talking, and praying together through both of our issues. I imagine our issues will increase but they will be dealt with the same way as the food...talking together and praying.

I want to emphasize talking and praying. These two postures are the most important because if you don't voice your prayers you might as well forget it. WHAT? FORGET IT? Yes. The Word of God says, "A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue..." Proverbs 18:20-21, "...for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks" Luke 6:4,"I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth" Psalm 34:1, "If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord..." Romans 10:9, "Your words have helped the tottering to stand, And you have strengthened the feeble knee"Job 4:3. I could go on  and on.

My point is that we have to voice with our mouths our wants, needs and desires. Some would say, "well, I pray silently".  NO WHERE in scripture does it say we should pray silently. What we do silently is meditate. To meditate is to think about; to dwell on; to remember. Psalm 19:14 says, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer".

Voice your prayers unto the Lord and He will help you in your time of need. Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call unto me and I will answer...". You can't call on someone with your mouth shut nor will your circumstance be change if you don't voice with your mouth, out loud!

Day 4 - Evening Report

 Related image
Its been a busy day for me so I have really not thought about food. I did have a smoothie for breakfast though and it was really good. For lunch Mark had flax seed whole wheat wraps with avocado, cucumber, romaine lettuce, radishes, tomatoes and green onion. I made a new dressing (which I will share below) and served it with baked corn tortilla chips that I made. In a bowl dice up avocado, tomato, green onion, fresh lemon and garlic with sea salt, and pepper and served it with those same homemade chips. Dinner will fun too...the recipe will also be below!

I found that studying my bible and working on a project helps to keep me from thinking of eating. I am attending a school called International School of the Word (ISOW). I am beta testing some classes for them; one of them is on Ephesian 6. As it turns out it is specifically about the Whole Armor of God; a very timely course I think. You may ask why is it timely...well, I am glad you asked! :)

As we are attempting to draw nearer to God through this fast guess who doesn't want to us to...that's right the enemy, the devil, Satan. Whatever you chose to call him he will be trying to disrupt and distract you before this fast is over; that is if you are not simply seeking to lose weight.

Like prayer and fasting go hand in hand so do distraction and disruption by the enemy. You need to enter into your fast each day remembering its important that you not only pray but that you are prepared for opposition. It requires that you put on the Whole Armor of God. Interestingly the first item to put on is a belt; the Belt of Truth. God's relationship with us is built on a foundation of Truth. We can trust that when we call on Him He will be there every time. When the enemy tries to distract and disrupt by telling you that you can't do this and/or that you will fail... tighten your Belt and tell Him to take a hike!
